Corrections policy

Tell us what needs checking.

Email treavor95@yahoo.com with the story link, the passage in question and any record that supports your concern. A specific claim and source make it easier to investigate.

Keep the record visible.

Published articles retain their original publication dates. Updates and corrections appear in Story details with a dated note. A changed conclusion or material factual correction needs a clear explanation.

Distinguish new information from an error.

A later development can change the picture without making the earlier account false. We label dates, uncertainty and the period a story covers so readers can judge that distinction.

Corrections are based on evidence. Sponsors and political preferences do not decide which facts we retain.
